Just heard from one of my close friend the most devastating news for Year2006.
I meant we kinda expected it would happened... but in my lil heart, i was really praying very hard that it will works out..
Sighz, Im not gonna blog about it cos it's she trusted moi to tell me abt it (and only like a handful of us knows)

A new camera!!
Im soooooooo excited....Been thinking for quite awhile to upgrade to a better one
It's the latest from Panasonic, the FX50 with like a 3" LCD screen (my old one was like just 1.5" or something!)
Tom wanted to get a pink colour one but it's sold out in all shops.
Oh well, Black is a cool~ colour as well....To my old FX1:

Time to move on...

I couldnt think of anything "PRACTICAL"to get him.
Last Christmas i bought him a watch. Then i got him a LV wallet for his birthday (which is still in the nice packaging, collecting dust on the shelf...)

Tom says that Christmas present is something personal, something that you take time and effort to think about. The value of the present is not important but its significances.

Which was WHY the LV wallet is still in the nice lil box.
Untouched.for.the.past.six.months. Such a waste~
Why? Because
1. He doesn't care for Branded stuff -_-
2. The wallet doesn't have a coin pouch -_-"

So for Christmas this year, moi came up with ideas like a Mont Blanc pen? those ultra cool Braun electronic shavers? which he totally rejected!!!

"I dun need a few hundreds dollars pen to write on"
"My three blades Gillette works fine"

The agony of looking for a Christmas gift for Dear Tom~

In the end, moi took the easy way out and asked him what he wants for Christmas

I did.Seriously

So he sent moi a list of stuff that he wants (actually just 3 things that he would have gotten for himself). Moi just need to get hold of these stuff during my days off . And with 6 more days to go till Christmas...time is precious

Singapore dreaming.... Are you?

it just dawned on me that our Dear Tom has been affectionally calling moi "my Princess" since dunno when
His daily sms will go like "Good morning, my princess......."

Awwwwww~ issit that so sweet ^-^

So whatever the princess wants, the princess gets right?

Anyway...focus focus focus...
moi wanted to comment on the movie, Singapore Dreaming To be really honest, moi didnt pay S$10 to watch the movie when it was screened in Singapore. Like the rest of my friends and 80%? of the Singapore population, Local movie production just doesnt seem to have the "ommph" factor

The usual stuff associated with local production were low production cost, chessy settings, bad acting skills and so forth.

I came across Neil Humphreys's article dated 6 Oct on the movie, Singapore Dreaming. He mentioned about how
"It was another tiresome example of a Singapore artist being more appreciated overseas than in his own country...."
"The stubborn persistence that a "local" artistic product must automatically be substandard..."

Isnt it weird that we don't support local production?

a week ago, when moi was paxing back on my Seoul flight back to Singapore (i was sandwiched between two old Korean guys ), i was surprised to find the movie, Singapore Dreaming on the On-Demand Movie channel.

I was intrigued
(fyi, Singapore Dreaming picked up the Montblanc New Screenwriters award at the prestigious 54th San Sebastian International Film Festival)

With an open mind and a "watch without prejudice" attitude, moi pressed the played button..

First and foremost, if you wanna watch the movie, prepare like a box of tissues!! The movie totally gets to you!!! I was practically sobbing my heart out. (You must remembered that i was sandwiched between two old korean guys) It was so embarrassing to be wiping my big fat tears with the blanket provided (Moi ran out of tissues kaayyy!!). I'm pretty sure the two old korean guys noticed but were nice enough to keep quiet

Singapore Dreaming paints a real life picture of a typical family living in Singapore. The struggle to meet the expectation of family and society, the typical 5Cs (Car, Condo, Country club, Cash and Career). It's a moving tale about family dealing with loss, ambition and the search for what really matters in life.

The funny thing was, this movie kinda reminds me about my own family, which was why i could totally relate to it..

For all of you who have miss it, DVD & VCD of the film, SINGAPORE DREAMING are now on sale at all good video retailers in Singapore, including Gramophone, HMV, Kinokuniya, Laser Flair, Poh Kim, Sembawang Music, TS Laser and Video EZY (remember, support ORIGINAL!!"

The BIG Conclusion :
My mindset of local production has definitely changed after watching Singapore Dreaming. Local production do have the "ommph" factor as well. Just that we didnt realise it.

Yesh, sometimes it's nice to just sit down and watch funny, humorous, love, romantic, scary, horror, "don't have to use brain to think' kinda movies flicks
But at the same time, it's good to watch movies like these that reflects on lifes' itself so we can learn from there, don't you think?

A big pat on the back for the cast and filmmakers.
You guys did a fantastic job!

Eye infection...again~

my right eye got infected (again!!)

This is like the 5th time this year...eye was all red and tearing over the weekend

That could means only one thing:
I can't wear my contact lens for the next couple of days

Arghhhhh!! i really loath to wear specs.

Maybe cos i dun look good in them?
And wearing them makes moi look like a school teacher

So moi's pretty happy with my 77% score
(Which was why Tom and myself stuffed ourselves crazy over the weekend with packets of chips, chocolates, cookies all drowned down with a 1.25l of coke!!)

fyi, the machine that moi mentioned earlier is the: InBody4.0.

Moi went to the hotel gym in Seoul just for the sake of using the Inbody...kekeke

My results!!

All within the normal range! Except for the Fat Distribution part which looks kinda high if you ask me..hmmmmI compared my results with the one taken one year ago and is please to find out that the fitness score was the same as last year...kekeke
the sad thing was i gained like 3kg in a year!!!
(Btw, there's something wrong with the weighting scale becos moi is probably 47kg and not 45.8kg!)

Well, if you have an opportunity, have a Body Composition Analysis test! I'm sure its available in Singapore. As mentioned, a person might look slim and healthy but might have a high body fat ratio. You can never tell from appearance.

And remember! Money cannot buy health!

Yesh! it damn expensive to pay for a packet of "i have no idea what its made" titbit

Where got a packet of snack so expensive one?
Have, provide you lose your wallet like moi lah.
Moi remembered taking out the wallet to pay for the snack. It was only when I was standing outside the hotel room looking the the card key did i realise my wallet was missing .

Thank god the wallet only contain my Korean won, my card key and nothing else. Imagine if all my credit cards and identification card were inside?
i will be a complete goner~

moi suspected that i must have dropped it somewhere between the walk from the convenience store back to the hotel
*make a mad dash back to the convenience store

Moi: Excuse me, i was here a few minutes ago buying this packet of titbit (pointing at the packet that moi was still clutching in my hand
shop keeper: ahh..ahh ah (he nodded his head)
Moi anxiously: Well, you see, i lost my wallet. Did you happen to see it around?
He looked kinda perpexed
Moi: you know wallet? Wallet?? money?? (moi doing a retangular shape with my fingers)

Suddenly, he gave a smile and said "Aaarh, Wall~let"
My hope soared!! Thank god for miracles! moi thought

He then led moi to one of the aisle and pointed at a packet on the shelf

Moi looked.

"100% Shelled WALNUTS" it says on the box

Wallet/Walnut? it doesnt even sounds similar!!!!! ARGHHH
Moi decided to give up on the chicken and duck talk.

After walking around aimlessly in the freezing cold for 15mins, moi started cursing #!&$*?$%$# the dishonest person who picked up my wallet. Sighz~ S$100 gone!!!! Just to pay for a bloody S$1 snack!!

Other then the misfortune of losing ALL MY KOREAN WON, the stay in Seoul had been fun.
i'm pleasantly surprise that Christmas is quite a big thingy in Seoul too, or maybe just the hotel i'm staying in. Check out their Christmas decoration! The Queen sitting in her Throne~

Choo Choo trains that were running around the escalator had moi squeaking in delight!~
