just aimless rambling....

Sighz... It's the last month of 2006..time really flies, doesnt it?
is it just me or does anyone else feels as sad as moi?

2007 is just around the corner and moi will be 28years old soon
Thinking back, moi wondered what i have accomplised in this year...
Nope, nothing significant like saving the earth (Captain Planet), voluteering for charitable cause (Angelina Jolie) or world peace (Miss Universe)..

But at least, im proud of who i am...
I did make a couple of wrong decisions of which i learned from there (hey! to err is human rite?)

I know im not 100% prefect (who is anyway? i'm very sure even the Great Old one up there make mistakes),
I know i have been taking lotsa things for granted especially Tom, my family and real good friends whom i haven meet up for ages like Lily, Jeremy, Weichiang etc. (which is gonna change because my New Year resolution==> is to not take people for granted!)

I dare to say that i'm able to wake up in the morning, look at myself in the mirror and think "Hey, you done great!!"
*give myself a pat on the back*

The coming of the year end has a funny effect on me. It's the time when moi loves to indulge in reminiscence, and feel nostalgic..Sighz

AM I STARTING TO FEEL OLD OR WHAT?

Life is pretty unpredictable at time, isnt it?
When i was a small little girl, moi thought that i'll find a decent Singaporean guy, get married at 24, have children at 26, desk bound job and etc etc.

how wrong I was

If a fortune-teller had told moi 5 years agothat i'm gonna be dating a foreigner and having a career
that takes moi to places all over the world, i would have thrown my shoe at him and ask him to get a life.

Seriously

Treasure what you have.
The 6 cases of Sudden Death over the last two months had moi thinking. Isn't it scary to go to bed and then sleep forever?
"Well, at least they passed away peacefully. It's the best way to die" Someone said

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!

think about all the plans they might have on their mind for the next day?
Maybe one of them had plans to bring his children for an outing since its the school holidays?
Maybe one of them wanted to bring the wife out for a candlelight dinner?
Maybe..all these maybes that they probably wanted to do but........

And if you think it's peaceful for them? How about the family? how would they feel?
It will be too sudden for them to accept, their loved one going away without saying goodbye...

4 or 5 years ago, My cousin had a sudden heart attack too. At the prime of his life, healthy, doesn't smoke or drink, had his own company, filial son, had a wife and a 3-years old son... gone in 10mins

Everyone was devastated. But life is unpredictable, isnt it?

Then when moi came back from my Seoul flight this evening, my really good friend messenged that his mom had just passed away a few hours ago.

My eyes immediately teared up. Moi remembered visiting him and his mom in the hospital about 2 weeks ago. At that time, her condition was quite bad and i was praying in my heart that she will pull through. When i enquired about her condition a week ago, he mentioned that she was feeling better. I was really glad that she was improving. Then one week later, i received news that she passed away.

The image of her laying in bed, saying that she wanna go home..and us telling her to be strong, to get better so she can go home will be forever implanted in my mind..

Haiz, i really dunno what to say at this point. What the hell! im not even sure why im writing all these stuff.. I'm a total emtional wreak right now~

'Tis the season to be jolly Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, Christmas carols, shopping malls with their bright Christmas decorations... Yesh, it's a time to be merry, a time to be joyous..But just take a few minutes to look around you, treasure what you have and give to the less fortunate because you never know what's gonna happen tomorrow.

I'm walking in the rain...........

The end of the year is the time when the weatherman tells everyone on national telly to pack AN UMBRELLA wherever you go. Better still? pack those gigantic beach umbrella if you must!

Moi had been in Singapore for one week and everyday it has been raining, raining and raining
RAININGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

Basically Singapore has just two type of weather
====> either too hot or too wet

I know i have been complaining (all the time!) about Singapore being too hot and humid so why am i still complaining when its cool and raining???

The peace before the storm!

Heavy rain....

It's definitely one of the joy in life to sleep in and hear the sound of rain outside your window

New 777-300er plane

Our Dear Tom was on the new 777-300ER, inaugural flight SQ333 from Paris to Singapore!!
Isnt that absolutely exciting!!

And to make things even better, my ex-team gal, Sammis was operating on that flight !
*quickly msg her to help take care of our Dear Tom!

For the past couple of months, our TV have been bombarded with the SIA's TV commercials to promote the new products on the new B777-300ER.

Even the major newspapers have been publishing full page advertisments on the new amenties available onboard.

Talk about aggressive marketing campaign!

News Releases from Singaporeair webbie
"A new era in premium air travel begins tomorrow, 5 December, as Singapore Airlines’ first Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) aircraft embarks on its inaugural commercial flight from Singapore to Paris. The daily flight, SQ334 departs Singapore at 2350hrs and arrives in Paris at 0625hrs the following day. The return flight, SQ333, departs Paris at 1145hrs and arrives in Singapore at 0720hrs a day later.Fitted with an entirely new cabin, the new Singapore Airlines 777-300ER aircraft features the world’s widest First and Business Class seats with fully flat beds, more spacious Economy Class seats, as well as a leading edge KrisWorld inflight entertainment system with larger screens and more than 1000 options, including the world’s first inflight office application software."

As luck will have it, Sammis happened to be serving where Tom was sitted!
Tom mentioned that Sammis took really good care of him during the flight.
(he even had the audacity to say that Sammis provide a better service to him than moi!!!)
*Grrrrr*

*knock his head with my stainless steel tray*

This is the one and only pathetic photo he took of the plane!!
Even after countless reminders asking him to take more pictures of the new aircraft..
What's new??
*rolled my eyes*
So moi had to get the pictures from more reliable source, like the Singapore air webbie itself
i must say moi's truly amazed and in awe over this!!
It's so awesome! In-seat power supply, larger screen, close to 500 entertainment options, built-in office software, More legroom and knee room to maximize comfort

To commend this special occasion, each passenger on the flight was given a SIA passport holder.
i'm sure the orchids were more "alive" then

Special thanks to Dear Sammis for taking really good care of Tom!
and as Tom mentioned "Its definitely a great way to fly~"

London trip with Tom!

Our dear Tom is finally back in Singapore...

*YAAY*

and he's so bloody lucky to be on the new SIA plane, B777-300ER from Paris to Singapore!!!
(more details of that in moi's next posting)

The London trip was a blast (except for the bloody cold temperature!! Brrrr~)

It was fun having him on my flight up to London! Eventhough moi was working in the forward zone and he was sitted in the Aft zone. Moi was constantly going down to Aft zone to see if he's alright
and constantly waking him up from slumberland just to pass him stuff...kekeke! i'm so mean!!
No wonder he had the "DO NOT DISTURB" sticker paste on his forehead!
I even packed some snacks and drinks for him just so he doesnt go hungry during the lull period (see how nice i am!!)

He stayed over at my hotel for the first couple of days
(
I WIN!! my hotel is nicer than yours!! lalala~ lalala~)

Nice background against the bed
Day 1 in London:

Went to the supermarketand did groceries shopping. Tom bought this jar of "Gherkins"
===> I never in my whole life heard of this green thingy called Gherkins

wikipedia says that :Gherkin (French cornichon) is a young cucumber, picked when 1 to 3 inches in length and pickled in jars or cans with vinegar (often flavoured with herbs, particularly dill or brine.
You can DEFINITELY read from my expression what moi personally think of this yuckie stuff!
Heck! there's even a "I hate Gherkins.com" webbie...
Dinnertime~
We arrange to meet up with Ah Ken for dinner in Chinatown. Clarissa couldnt join us cos she was too tired after her flight.

i have no idea wat im looking for
Dinner was at a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown (Duh! Chinatown mah! of cos eat Chinese food right!)
As usual, the Courier service a.k.a Moi safely delivered this precious parcel from Veron to her hubby, Ah Ken!

Our Ah Ken was truly excited about this parcel (which weights like a tonne!!). We urged him to opened it on the spot..hahaha
TATA!!!! BIRD NEST leh!!!
BTW, he DIDNT correctly guess what's inside the parcel..MUAHAHAHA
1 brownie point for
Veron
Note: The lady in the restauant told us that it's actually against the law to bring Bird's nest into London!
omigosh~ moi broke the custom law
*sweat drop*

Day 2 in London:

Woke up early cos our Dear Tom going to work. Sigh, gonna miss himDuring evening, we took a nice stroll around Oxford Street while waiting for Ah Ken to join us for dinnerDinner was at this fancy restaurant, Angus Steak houses

Truly, Madly in Love

Our really expensive dinner! This is probably the most expensive steak S$60 I had ever eaten in my whole life FEED ME!! FEED ME!!
Well, i gotto admit that it was pretty good piece of steak!
Nice Ambience and excellent service!
The waitress even volunteer to help take a picture of us together
(of cos we left a nice TIP behind!)
Day 3 in London:

Accompanyed Dear Tom to his hotel located near the London Bridge.

Took the London cab which costs like an arm and a leg!!! Thank god he can put it in his expense claims fyi, the ride from Heathrow Airport to the city (about 30mins journey) cost him 50pounds i.e. S$150! After checking into his hotel and dropping off his luggages, we took a nice and leisure walk to his office which is located near to London bridge.

It was fun spending a couple of days in London together and meeting up with our friend, Ken
Hey, Ken! thanks for showing us around. See ya in Singapore soon!

All i want for Christmas is .....

a new Laptop!!!!

If you guys had been religiously reading my bloggie, you would have known my lappie KAPUT a couple of months ago...

*sad story*

The only reason why moi can still update my bloggie is secretly using my brother's lappy while he's at work..
or my sista desktop (which officially belongs to all of us)
hmm...well, she did pay for the 19" LCD monitor..but still!!! Its not fair that i cant used it!!

*Hmmph*

Moi : Hey, could i use the computer?
Big Sista: whatcha gonna use it for?
Moi : well..heehee..moi wanna update my bloggie
Big Sista : I'm doing my work. And work is more important that updating that silly blog of yours
Moi : Please please pleaseeeeeeeeeee...just for half an hour (pleading)
Big Sista : No. Dun disturb me.
Moi : But...but if i dun update my bloggie, people is gonna start missing me, my blog brings joy and laughter to their otherwise boring life...
*bedroom door slam shut in my face*

Sighz...the suffering moi have to endure just to update my blog..

I NEED A LAPTOP!!!!!!!!

and not just any laptop...it has to be this!!!!!!!
*drums rolling*

moi's favouite hotel

Five more days and our dear Tom will be back in Singapore... Sighz

On my last Shanghai trip, the hotel staff were so nice to assign us really nice rooms..
Executive club rooms to be more exact...

It's probably one of the nicest room i ever stayed in...

First of all, it's located on the 19th floor... when moi glanced out from the corrider, dozen of big RED lantern lies suspended in the center of the hotel building...which is really a pretty sight..
the contrasting bright RED AND BLACK theme that greets moi when i entered the room To make things even better, moi found a LCD TV and a DVD player...Like the room itself, the toilet is done up with bright red walls and black dressing tableToiletries from Aigner! WOW~
Relax and cosy effect during night time..I really like the Red and black theme..
It gives a very contrasting kinda effect...maybe moi could do something like that for my house in the future..

Back to Singapore..but where's Tom?

Phew~ finally came back to Singapore...

Hengz moi was working in Business class today..The passengers and my two other colleagues are super duper nice. However, my colleagues working in economy class were not so lucky...
310 passengers + 7 infants VS 8 crew is no joke leh!
If you do the math, each crew takes care of roughly 40 passengers.
TOUGH~
Kudos to all of them!!

Sighz...feel so sad when i got back to Singapore today..Usually, moi will feel exhilarated when the plane touched down in Changi Airport..
Back to my country, back to my family and back to my dear Tom...

The first person i'll call upon landing in Singapore is always Tom but he's not in Singapore now.. *sniff sniff*
He's in London and wouldnt be back until like next thursday..Miss him so so much... It's so funny how we never know what we got till its gone and how dependant we are on that person..
Not taking things for granted is something that i seriously need to work on.
My New Year Resolution for 2007!! p(^o^)q

Took tons of pictures in London..It's bloody cold over there with unpredictable showers (Yesh Tom! I should have heed your advice and brought along my scarf..You were right kaaaay!!!)

Anyway, moi's camera is travelling with our dear Tom i.e all the pictures are with him!!! *Argh*...will post the pictures as soon as i can..

Pictures taken at Vivo city when we were there last sat.. Place is totally jammed packed!!
(btw, what's the big thingy with GAP? wait till big names like A&F, H&M, VS, bath and body works, Old Navy reach our shores before moi start screaming my lungs out!)

Hello Kitty Roadshow~
Interesting guy in greenChristmas tree at Harbour Front~
So tired now...been awake for amost 27hours with a 2 hours nappie somewhere in the middle..
gonna crashed~

i'm out..miss you Tom...
