Welcome to Singapore, Morton!

Just received a wonderful piece of new from Tom's family!

Tom's brother just become a DADDY!! and Tom? He's an uncle now!!
Grattis Grattis!! I'm so happy for the new parents...

The next time moi goes to Sweden, Im gonna take tons of photos of the cute lil baby girl!

Moi just came back from my Manchester flight. Too lazy to post my Scotland sightseeing trip...
Well, I'll do that when I'm back from my Hong Kong/ San Francisco flight...

lazy lazy moi...

Met up with Morton, Tom's colleague from London. We bought him to a Japanese restaurant in Suntec. He requested Japanese food cos it's the safest choice!

This is Morton. He's Danish, btw.The Japanese restaurant we went to. Tonkichi.
Have anyone even wonder why the chopstick is placed horizontally on the table?
Of course i know why!!!!! *roll eyes*

I remembered on one occasion, Tom and moi were dining at this quite high class Japanese restaurant and i posted this question to Tom (who obviously didn't know). He gave moi a sceptical look when i told him the reason. To re-confirm, moi called the waitress over and asked her whether she knew the reason?

She, of all people, didn't know the reason as well....
just that it's suppose to be placed horizontally.

-_-

I mean, issit it weird to do it just for the forsake of doing it? Without knowing why u are doing it?
I have to admit though, if im not in the service line myself, i probably wouldn't have known why in Japanese restaurant, chopsticks have to be place horizontally on the table. But the thing is, She's in the service line, working in a JAPANESE RESTAURANT, and having JAPANESE customers patronising the place...issit it a MUST to know the reason?

Am i complaining again?
Alrite, the reason why chopsticks are placed horizontally across the bottom of the place-setting, and not vertically at the side and certainly not stuck in the bowl of rice, which - strictly speaking -
is used only for the dead person’s meal at a funeral.

So now u know...

I ordered the sashimi and tempura set (S$32++)
It was just okay... didnt find it that fantastic

Tom's choice, katsu don (fried pork cutlet with rice) was definitely better!!!
Yummie
Moi was returning from the restroom when i saw an ultra familiar face. My good friend, Jeremy was having dinner at the restaurant too!!!
what a coincidence! We said our hellos and promise to meet up real soon...

That's Morton at the Suntec's fountain of wealth.

We walked over to Esplanade for drinks at Harry's bar...BTW, Morton is like 1.92m.
I had to asked him politely to slouch alittle so i don't look that short! HAH
Bye Morton! thanks for visiting lil Singapore!
