Saturday Night~

Omigosh~

Today is officially my 3rd year with the company! Isn't that amazing?
And the reason why i remembered was cos i had problem logging into the company webbie and the guy in the call center required my Date of employment for verification.

Like duh~

Who in the world remembers their Date of employment?!?!

Anyway, this is probably the longest i had ever been with the same company.
Not that i will get the long service award considering that some of my colleagues had been with the company for like 30, 40 years?

Ancient~

Just like my Dad! He had been with the same company for 35years? and two more years to getting the golden handshake. I don't think i can ever be with the same company for more than 5 years? Unless I OWNED the company! Muahahaha

Back to my bloggie, met up with Tom's friend, Fiona at Bugis
I had heard so much about Fiona so it's kinda exciting to be finally meeting her. No wonder she's Tom's best friend. She's really friendly, very nice and owns two companies! Wow~

At a young age of 29. Impressive~

After dinner, she recommended a Japanese restaurant where they serves really nice desserts.I ordered the Green tea ice-creamWhile Tom had the strawberries flavourThe desserts are totally divine! Thanks Fiona for recommending the place.
Now we know where to get our Dessert craving fix! *Droolz*
Parted way with Fiona after dessert cos she needs to go back to her office to settle some work.
That's what happens when you are your own boss. You work 24/7 non stop.

Tom and moi decided to head down to the Esplanade for a drink.

On our way there.. taking pictures with the artwork~
More like graffiti if you ask me. Nice graffiti.
Had a drink at one of the pubs. Moi ordered the house specialty, something sour.Yupz! you can tell from moi's impression what i personally think of the drink!

Tom thought it was nothing fantastic either
All in all, It was a nice night out!

The Power of Photoshop

Moi picked up a copy of the Adobe Photoshop CS2 from the library yestie. Been thinking of learning more about this powerful program for quite awhile liao.

So yesterday was spent browsing through the book, and testing out the stuff on my lappy.
I must say im pretty impressed~

Whole wide range of tools ==> curves, retouching, layers and blah blah blah.
No wonder its the world's leading image-editing application.

Experiment 1:
Use my Baa Baa for testing!

My anorexic Baa Baa!!

HAHAHA..I know, it looks kinda weird~
But what u expect from a beginner?
Gonna do a better job next time!

8days trip to Tokyo & L.A

GRRRR...I'm in PMS mood~
my back & stomach have been cramping/aching ALL NIGHT!!
Poor Tom, he had to suffer the whole night yestie

I think only chocolates can save me now
(open the fridge and stuffed my mouth full of chocolates)

Continue with my bloggie...My 8days trip...
just one word:
JETLAG

All the way to Los Angeles, Tokyo and back to Singapore...

Pretty depressing huh? When your body is finally adjusting to the US time, Zoom~ you are making your way back to Singapore..

Some of my colleagues advise moi "follow Singapore timing lah, then u would feel so bad"
But I was like? HELLO!! how to follow Singapore timing when it is GMT-8 in L.A? 16hours behind Singapore. If Singapore is in daylight, L.A is in nightfall.

Im sure it works for some people, but not for me...i'll try to follow the local time there, if i can..unless im too bloody tired to care

Slept in the afternoon, woke up in the middle of the night, slept again in the morning. Each time clocking just 5-6hours of sleep a day. My body clock was totally screwed up
Decided to finally ventured out of my hotel room on the 2nd day cos my body is craving for fresh air. Everything is still so unfamiliar cos our company put us up at a diff hotel. Previously, we stayed at this pretty world renowed hotel, where restaurants, shopping malls are like a few mins walk away. Then the company decided : "Hey, let's put our cabin crew near to Disneyland! The happiest place in the world"

*roll eyes*

I'm serious. My next door neighbour is Mickey Mouse himself.

My chances of meeting Brangelina's family is prob a big fat ZERO now
(unless they decided to come to Disneyland for a lil family time)
Bleah~

The new hotel is an hour drive from the airport. There's nothing here (there's Disneyland!) except for a Target store which is like 20mins walk from the hotel.

And they don't sell OPI nail polishs!! urghhhh

Super lack of photos in L.A, so moi decided to take photos of the next most interesting thing that happen in L.A : My Carl's burger meal! HAHA
Moi ordered the Six Dollar Burger meal~
It says :
MADE WITH 100% Angus beef
do a wikipedia search: Angus beef
Aberdeen-Angus is the original name of the breed as developed in Scoland. In the US, they are usually referred to simply as Angus or Black Angus. Angus beef is supposedly to be of a higher quality than beef from other breeds of cattle. It tends to have finely textured marbling and thus can be more tender than meat from other breeds.

I still can't get over the fact that the moo moo is totally black in colour!
i mean, i've seem Brown moo moo, Black and White moo moo BUT NOT
all black moo moo

fact or fiction?
Brown moo moo are for consumption, Black and white moo moo are for milking
I must tell you, the six dollar burger is HUMONGOUS!
It's like the size of two Big Mac burgers!

SUPER DELICIOUS

I think it was quite a feat to finish the whole burger!
Considering that moi cannot even finish up a Big Mac burger
It helps that the angus beef tastes so so bloody good~ *droolz*
Yupz, passed by a Morton's, The Steakhouse along the way. Not sure if it's related to THAT "Morton’s of Chicago, The Steakhouse" I'm pretty sure it is!
(updates: just did a google search: IT IS related)

BTW, on the topic of Morton's, The Steakhouse: Moi heard it's a fabulous place and they served the best steak in Singapore. Since im really in love with beef right now, moi did a search on their webbie, found the menu but no pricing.
DARN~
A google search from other peoples reviews on the Morton's Steakhouse: A simple meal for two with main courses, dessert and wine could easily set u back a couple of hundreds dollars...
S$400-S$500 in fact!!!
omigosh~ It's more expensive than Lawry at Paragon!

So guys guys guys, if you wanna impress your date, bring her down to Morton's!
ermm, make sure she's a beef(man)eater though

Day of Depature:
Our bus passed by Disneyland (see, i told you we are neighbours!)
*wave at Mickey* Bubye~
The famous LAX Air Traffic Control that appears in alot of Big Hollywood moviesAfter 11hours of flight, we finally landed in TOKYO!!
FOOD!!

Dragged our asses out for Ramen!!
Somehow or rather, the ramen in Singapore just doesnt have the same SHIOK feeling~

Super shiok~

The next morning, we headed down to Shinjuku for food and shopping

FIRST STOP: SUSHI
Made on the spot

The funny thing: Japanese dun eat much wasabi!
Unlike us Singaporean. Usually, we take a huge chunk of wasabi, use our chopstick and stirred it all up with light soya sauce to get a thick greenish glob. Then we'll practically dipped the whole sushi into our greenish glob just to get the feel of wasabi~ biss going all the way up to our nose and brain..

The Japanese way of eating wasabi is much different.
1. They do not mix them up to get a greenish glob
2. They will just put a teeny weeny bit of wasabi on their sushi.
MY FAVOURITE: Unagi (Grilled eel)Dessert: The sweetest pineapple i have even eaten!
Passed by a Krispy Kreme shop on our way to Takashimaya.

The queue is outragous~
WHEN is Krispy Kreme coming to Singapore?!?!
Abby, my colleague, said that you need at least US$1m to get the krispy Kreme franchise.
To all the Singaporean millionaires: Please make my dream come true!!!

Teabreak: All stawberries cakes!!Snapped a picture of an interesting sink in the toilet
3 in 1, all on a sink....ultra cool~
Stocked up on my FANCL Mild cleansing oil.
New Spring design
Dinner was at a Tempura joint near to our hotelThe next day, moi had Pasta. This is no ordinary pasta! It's pasta in soupy pasta sauseBefore checkout, moi ate this interesting thingy that we ta bao yestieIt consist of crab meat, salmon roe, raw salmon slice, raw cuttlefish, cooked cuttlefish and riceIKURA: Salmon roeIt's super funny to eat so many raw stuff...

I'm quite surprised that my stay in Tokyo was spent walking around looking for food!
Ramen, Sushi, Tempura etc...no wonder i gained weight! But it's worth it!!

Im BACKKKKKK~~~

Im BACKKKKKKKKKK~

Phew~ finally! Back to Singapore after being away for 8days straight.
Been almost half a year since moi did a super duper long flight... so kinda difficult to be away for so long....Anyway, moi will be off till this coming sunday!! Thats like almost 5days off!! Woohoo~

SO EXCITING!!!

initially, moi wanted to plan a mini "R&R" trip with Tom but he doesnt have enuff leave.
Such an anti climax!
Oh well, guess i'll just stay at home and drive my family & Tom insane!!
(which im sure they dun mind since they miss moi so much when i was away!)

Another exciting thing to share!
My lappy is finally back!! (after 3months READ: 3MONTHS in the service centre!!!)
Talk about efficiency... and the stoopid repair bill came up to S$400!!

Of cos my nice lil bro and moi decided to split the bill. HEHE
(There goes my ang bao $$$) -_-

Thanks to my bro who also took half a day off to collect it from some ultra ulu place in Singapore. I could have collect it personally since im off for the next couple of days. But he insisted on doing it because :
1. He knows im probably gonna take my own sweet time to collect it
2. He wants me to stop hogging his lappy

See, he's not so nice afterall! *just kidding*

I'm still getting used to using my own lappy. It's gonna take awhile to get use to a much slower SLOWER lappy. My bro's lappy takes like "a blink of an eye" to open programs whereas moi's takes "one blink, two...three and many more blinks" before it finally open up the MS Excel program

One word: SLOW~

Geez, maybe i should just swop mine with his~
Did i mention that when moi try to do a backup of my pictures into the exteral harddisk, it took 85minutes just to just transfer 4GB of files with my USB1 port!!!

Freaking long

Moi asked my Bro: So how long does it takes to do the same thing on your lappy?
Bro: Ermm, you don't wanna know
Moi: Yesh, i wanna know
Bro: well, it probably takes like 8minutes?

JUST 8Minutes!!!!! FXXXING HXXX

Now u know how ancient my lappy is.
I should have just thrown this stopid thing out of the window and buy a brand new one.

Grumble Grumble~
But after all the cursing and swearing, im still glad that it finally back...
*kiss my lappy*
feel so lazy now...gonna write my 8days Tokyo/Los Angeles trip later...

Stay tuned~

a weekend together~

Finally, Tom and moi get to spend a whole weekend together...
That's the problem with flying, i guess..
our days off are not fix and it's so difficult to make plans sometimes..

Went down to Phin's@ Tampines Mall. I absolutely love their steaks!!
Reasonably priced, comes with ladies cut, gentleman cut or the humongous cut!!

I love Steak!!
(considering that i only started eating beef like 5years ago)
Tom loves to take photos of moi... He's like those papparazzi stalking the Hollywood celebrities
Sometimes i feel like a mini celebrity (with flashlights going off while im eating, walking, SLEEPING, watching TV and making silly faces)
Tom waiting for his food~
I love his blue eyes
Bought a blueberry feeze from Cheers mini-mart
Big mistake...
Blue berry = blue tongue
The next photo is gonna cost you extreme stress and discomfortable.
Proceed if you dare~ You have been warned

...

Pretty gross huh! I told you -_-

Moi in a dress!!! Arghhhh
I detest wearing a dress... The funny thing is: Tom thinks i look really good in a dress
Taking silly photos in the lift~Haha!! Tom: now you know how it feelsI love photos of us together!! keke
